Wildlife are plentiful in the area. Elk, deer, pronghorn antelope and small animals and birds are common.
Pike National Forest is close by with tens of thousands of acres of public land.
A short distance to the northeast of here are Spinney Mountain Reservoir and Elevenmile Reservoir, which have
some of the best fishing in Colorado.
